Windsurfing: Bradfield Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 8/15kts Surf / Sea State: flat Air Temperature: OK cool Sea Temperature: cool Weather: Cloud / Rain Max Speed: 13.1 kts (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 6.2 nm (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
The forecasters got it badly wrong today, predicting 15+ kts. I arrived a
bit late prob after 1pm and it was windy enough to put me off rigging 9.3.
Several sailors about to launch, so they caught it just right and had a
decent hour in about 15kts. Unfortunately by the time I rigged and launch
the smaller 8.3 S type, the wind dropped. I had rigged for strong winds, so
everything was wrong in the setup. Wrong sail, rear wing and wrong spacer.
The mast foot was too far forward. It could not have been setup worse.
Stayed out 40 mins or so think I flew once or twice. Gave up - went in
rigged 9.3 changed the setup, hung around another hour and the wind did
fill a little enough to tempt me, but again waste of time. The pro's had a
reasonable sail, but am way too heavy in these rubbish wind. Not sure why
my heart rate went to 157 at one point! Probably due to the frustrations of
the poxy sport. Tides are too late for rest of week at Bradders so thats it
for me. Made it back in time for a nice Chinese meal out, so all good
again.
